Budapest hat eine relativ gute Verbindung mit den Nachbarländern auf der Landstrasse, mit der Bahn und auch mit Schiffe. Züge kommen aus allen Nachbarländern und im Sommer gibt es auch Wasserweg zwischen Wien und Budapest. Der wichtigste Eintrittspunkt ist für internationale Züge ist: Hegyeshalom (aus Wien und West-Europa); Szombathely (aus Graz); Komarom und Szob (aus Prag und Berlin); Miskolc (aus Kaschau, Krakau und Warschau); Nyiregyhaza (aus Lvov, Moskau und St Petersburg); Bekescsaba (aus Bukarest via Arad und Timisoara); Szeged (aus Subotica); Pecs (aus Osijek); und Nagykanizsa (aus Zagreb und Ljubljana).

Auf der Landstrasse gibt es sehr gute Verbindung mit den Nachbarländern. Fahren mit dem Bus ist meistens die billigste Möglichkeit. Die Busse fahren von Budapest nach West-Europa von Erzsebet ter (1-317 2562) in der Nähe von Deak ter. Nach Ost-Europa (auch nach Schweden) fahren die Busse von Nepstadion (1-252 2896) XIV. Hungaria korut 48-52. (U-Bahn: Nepstadion) ab.

Alkohol zu trinken vor dem Autofaren ist verboten! Auch schon ein paar Gläser Wein kann ausgezeigt werden. Bis 0.008% bekommen Sie eine Strafe bis 30.000 Ft, wenn es noch höher ist, werden Sie verhaftet werden!

Sie müssen ein gültiger Führerschein, ein Registrationsdokument und eine Matrize besitzen, damit Sie Ungarn zutreten können. Die Bürger der EU haben diese Pflichte natürlich nicht (ausser der Führerschein). Die grüne Karte, eine Versicherung und das Nummernschild ist obligatorisch!

Wenn Sie aus Österreich kommen, nehmen Sie die Autobahn M1. Die Benutzung der Autobahn ist zu bezahlen. In der Nähe von Budapest bei Budaörs treffen sich M1 und M7 bei Budaörs. Hier gibt es Tafeln, die Ihnen die Touristenbüros zeigen, wo Sie die verschiedene Karten und Hefte finden können.
