Hungary has a very long way to go before it becomes user-friendly for the physically challenged (one positive step: the 5000 Ft note has markings in Braille). Wheelchair ramps, toilets fitted for the disabled and the like are virtually non-existent.
Unfortunately, access to quite a few bulildings in Budapest is hard for disabeled travelers. More and more museums have became accessible, but public transport is still a problem. However the yellow underground has a special motorized chair at Deák tér, Mexikói út and at Széchenyi fürdő stops.
More information on coping with diabilities while in Hungary, contact either the very friendly Mrs. Ceasar or Mrs. Sarlós at the Hungarian Disabeled Association (MEOSZ), III. San Marco u. 76. phone: (+36 1-388 2388) Open 08:00-16:00. Closed Sat, Sun, or Hungarian Society for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons PO BOX 1, H 1528 Budapest 123.

These buses travel on a fixed route, so if you would like to use our services please contact us at the above address or call us at the above mentioned number. We would also like to draw your attention to the steps on the IK 412 buses, which are so low that the passengers can get on and off by taking just one step from the pavement/sidewalk.
