"Budapest is a very tourist friendly city, offering many historical piaces to visit"

Graham, Wincham (United Kingdom)

"Loved Budapest. Its a great location for a weekend break. I would have loved to stay longer"

John, Dublin (Ireland)

"I am enthusiastic, I like Budapest. the people are very friendly, helpful, kind, made me feel at home, never felt lost. Without knowing the language I had to ask many times, always got help. booking hotel via website budapesthotels.com was easy and personel contact was very important. I came for two days for the Butoh Dance Festival at National Dance Theatre and I was meeting my friends, the dancers from Japan. Living in Castle district has for me a special quality. Hope to come soon again"

Angela , Vienna (Austria)

The liveliest cyber café in town, located in the Rózsakert Shopping Center. This isnt just an Internet cafe, but also a club, a restaurant and a video-game arcade in one. They have pretty new computers with large screens, a full range of multimedia equipment with a high-speed 128 kbit/sec connection to the net, all connected in a local network. The biggest advantage of this local network is the opportunity for up to 10 people to play games such as Quake 2 and SimCity together (500 Ft/hour). If you fancy your chances, you can enter a championship tournament on the weekend. Should you get hungry while surfing or gaming, the café offers sushi (hence the name), pizza, and sandwiches. One of the oldest and biggest Internet cafes, popular with tourists, is located in Kecskeméti street and bears the none-too-original name "Internet Cafe". The café is in the heart of downtown, so you can hop in during your sightseeing to write an email to your friends. Its main strength is that, thanks to its 35 high-performance computers, theres no waiting time. The connection is necessarily fast as the computers are mostly used for email and the Internet. Besides this, other services include printing (both black and white and color), scanning, copying, computer assistance (even at the weekend), savvy advice (in Hungarian and in English) and CD burning (from hard disks or CDs, but only if copyright permits it). This isnt a regular café but while table service isnt an option, food and drink is available from vending machines, so you wont go hungry or thirsty.

Refreshments include coffee, soft drinks and snacks.

15. Alcatraz
VII. Nyár street 1.
Tel.: 351 5151
By trams 4, 6 ; metro M2 or buses 7, 178Stop name: Blaha Lujza tér
A prison meal never tasted so good. In some ways, this Alcatraz has little in common with the San Francisco original that inspired it: the food is delicious, there are Internet hook-ups, and inmates are treated to live music six days a week.

Here, Al Capones cell is recreated, the wait staff are branded in telltale striped uniforms and theres even a prison shower. Thankfully, the resemblance ends there. Hardship at this Alcatraz consists of having to choose which of the specialty teas and coffees to order.

16. Vista Café and Restaurant
VI. Paulay Ede u. 7
Take any metro until Deák tér
Tel.: 268 0888, 267 8603
Two places in one. Escape from the world in Vistas tranquil restaurant or connect to the world in its cafe that provides internet access complete with microphones and webcam.

The restaurant offers a full menu with twists on international and Hungarian cuisine, while the cafe serves light gourmet dishes and fantastic shakes. The pear cake is as good as it gets.

The Internet café is popular with tourists as its centrally located, so the place gets a bit crowded in the afternoons and evenings, but you can sip a malt in the cafe or have dinner in the restaurant while you wait. Online surfing aside, Vista is a favorite in its own right.

Open: 8am-10pm Mon-Fri; 10am-10pm Sat-Sun.
