During validity of the Budapest Card you can use the services of the Budapest Transport Ltd. free of charge as many times as you want. You can go round the town by bus, tram, trolley bus and by metro.

You can travel on HÉV with the card till the suburbs, after the town limits you have to buy an additional ticket.

The card is also valid for the cogwheel railway, not usual in the cities, thus considered as a rarity. Thanks to the line-network of the Budapest public transport and to the frequency of the service you can get quickly and comfortably to the main sights, you can come to learn about the city by criss-crossing it.

Three metro-lines are running in the territory of the capital, out of which the 105 year-old Millennium Tube is considered as a real curio, as this had been the very first subcortial railway of the continent. By the HÉV, considered as a suburban train, you can reach Szentendre and Gödöllő much liked by the tourists.

The starting times of the various means of transportation are different, on all the three metro lines the trains run between 4.30 - 23.10. In the late night hours night-sevices transport the passengers on the most frequented lines.

When asked, simply present your card to the ticket inspector, who is entitled to check the validity of the signature on the card. Passengers travelling without a valid ticket or without a valid Card will be fined.

Children's railway -100%

This narrow-gauge railway winds trough the beautiful forests of the Buda Hills along its 12 kilometer-long route. This is the only railway in the world operated almost entirely by children aged between 10 and 14.

Chairlift, operates between Zugliget and János Hill view point -10%

Quite a surprising vehicle in the city: a cable railway like a ski lift with chairs. The difference of level between the two end points is 262 meters. The journey takes 15 minutes, and an unforgettable view opens up for the passengers.
