"We have traveled fairly extensively and Budapest was our favorite city in terms of culture, food and history.
I would recommend including an explanation of the different types of public transportation metro, trams, buses, etc as well as a map. It's very easy to get around but for newcomers this would save time. We recommend buying the week pass that allows travel on all transit and was an excellent value.

Tipping
Hungarians routinely tip waiters,hairdressers, taxi drivers and even doctors, dentists and some petrol-station attendantsabout 10%. In restaurants, do this immediately on payment of the bill by rounding up –don’t wait to leave money on the table. If you were less than impressed with the serviceat the restaurant, the joyride in the taxi or the way someone cut your hair, leave next tonothing or nothing at all. They will get the message.
Plastic Credit Cards are accepted at all major hotels and some shops and restaurants, but they arenot nearly as commonly used as in North America. Bank (ATM) cards are more useful, and youwill find plus and Cirrus Network machines all over the city.
