You say...

"very quick at confirming taxi transfers and rooms."

Joanne, Southend on sea (United kingdom)

"You have been very good, professional, trustworthy. Budapest is a very nice and well organized town, easy to get around, clean, safe and hungarian people are very nice, warm and friendly.I will go back for sure."

Fabio, Dublin (Ireland)

"Budapest is a beatiful city with friendly people. We were amazed by the Buda castle, Parliament spa Gellert as well as the ZOO. However public transport looks poor and because of almost non-existent road signs it´s extremely easy to get lost when you go by car."

Michal, Prague (Czech Republic)

"Budapest is wonderful city with very nice places and your site is very helpful for finding of accommodation.."

Lenka, Zilina (Slovakia)

"I used the site to book my apartment and airport transfers. When I needed to change the time of one of the transfers this was done easily. The site was easy to use and had a good range of choices.I loved Budapest and hope to return in future."

Linda , Falkirk (United kingdom)

"I absolutely love Budapest It is one of the most beautiful and friendliest cities in the world. People are very nice and friendly even though most of them do not speak English. "

Dejan, Belgrade (Serbia)

Language

The Hungarians speak Magyar, a member of the Finno-Ugric language group that is related very, very distantly to Finnish, Estonian and about a dozen other very minor languages in Russia and western Siberia. Hungarian is not an Indo-European language, meaning that English is closer to French, Russian and Hindi in vocabulary and structure than it is to Hungarian. As a result you’ll spot few words that you are likely to recognize – with the exception of things like disco or farmer (the Hungarian word for ‘blue jeans’).

Many older Hungarians understand German, especially in Transdanubia, but it is usually the young generation who can speak English or German. Children start to learn a foreign language in primary school, then in secondary school they usually learn two, English and German being the most widespread and popular ones (though Spanish and French are also becoming popular). If you have trouble making yourself understood, try writing down what you want to say. Travel agencies usually have at least one staff member who can speak English to some degree. Some useful words to learn are: utca or utcaja (street), korut (boulevard), út or utja (road), ter or tere (square), setany (promenade), and híd (bridge). Public toilets (WC) are markedfor women and férfi for men. A plural is indicated by a final ‘k’. Nem indicates a negative.
