Air is clean and the follage of hundred years old trees protect from dust and reduce temperature extremes, as well. The healing power of its abundant thermal waters is highly reputed world-wide. Spring-waters on Margaret Island are rich in minerals therefore they are widely used in medical treatment.
Therapies based on the utilization of the three valuable thermal springs of Margaret Island (with calcium, magnesium, natrium, potassium and sulphur contents). The spa's treatment centre is equipped with the most modern balneo, electro, mechano and dental technology. Specially trained, multilingual medical staff are at the guests disposal.
Balneotherapy includes underwater massage, underwater gymnastics, effervescent bath, mud packs, baths using extensive weight equipment. The electrotherapy departments have the most up-todate technical equipments. Iontophoresis, galvanic current, interference current, ultrasound, phototheraputic treatments are available, just to mention a few. Traditional methods of treatments are also complimented by medical massage, medical gymnastics and acupuncture.
The hotel
The two hotels connected with the treatment centre are the Health Spa Resort and the Grand Hotel. The first class Health Spa Resort was completed in 1979 as the world's first ever metropolitan health resort hotel. The 120 year old Grand Hotel reopened its doors in 1987 after a complete renovation. It meets high International standards while preserving its old world charm.
The huge park surrounding the two hotels on the Island offers numerous possibilities for recreation or sports. In spite of the fact that Margaret Island is situated in the heart of Budapest, just a few minutes afar from the downtown, it's unique micro climate and calmness makes it an ideal spot for spa visitors.
All rooms are totally refurbished and air-conditioned. Specially shaped rooms are available for our disabled guests and "non-smoking" rooms for those who dislike cigarette smoke.
