The two hotels connected with the treatment centre are the Health Spa Resort and the Grand Hotel. The first class Health Spa Resort was completed in 1979 as the world's first ever metropolitan health resort hotel.

The well-known and popular Grand Hotel of age was built in 1873 according to the plans of one of the most famous Hungarian architects, Miklós Ybl.
The edifice beaten by the tempests of history was re-opened in 1986 completely refurbished, also refurbished in 2000 for the second time. It meets high International standards while preserving its old world charm.
Now the hotel is fully air-conditioned, electronic key-card system is used for the doors, there are safe and coffee/tea machines installed in every room.

  

It is a special feature that the adjacent Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget - which is under the same management - may be reached through a heated underground passage, thus the guests of Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget may use the medicinal department, as well as the fitness and other facilities offered there without any further arrangement.

The hotel is situated in very special surroundings: on the prodigious Margaret Island entwined by the river Danube, in a romantic wilderness - the realm of silence and repose - in beautiful park setting with direct access to thermal spa centre, just a few minutes far from the throbbing business quarter of the noisy city.

Spa, therapies

The natural endowment makes picturesque Margaret Island an ideal spa resort. Air is clean and the foliage of hundred years old trees protect from dust and reduce temperature extremes, as well. The healing power of its abundant thermal waters is highly reputed world-wide. Spring-waters on Margaret Island are rich in minerals therefore they are widely used in medical treatment.

  

The hotel has direct connection through corridor to the Spa Therapy Centre of the neighboring Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget. Therapies based on the utilization of the three valuable thermal springs of Margaret Island (with calcium, magnesium, natrium, potassium and sulphur contents).
The spa's treatment centre is equipped with the most modern balneo, electro, mechano and dental technology. Specially trained, multilingual medical staff are at the guests disposal.
Balneotherapy includes underwater massage, underwater gymnastics, effervescent bath, mud packs, baths using extensive weight equipment. The electrotherapy departments have the most up-todate technical equipments. Iontophoresis, galvanic current, interference current, ultrasound, photo therapeutic treatments are available, just to mention a few. Traditional methods of treatments are also complimented by medical massage, medical gymnastics and acupuncture.

Indoor pool, sauna, massage are also available.
